Verification sequence of events

You must have a Bank Wizard Absolute license to verify the account and personal details.

The starting point for using Bank Wizard Absolute to verify account and personal details is to enter validated account information and the name, address and date of birth of the account holder.

Use the standard Bank Wizard web service process to validate the account details before you start this process.

1.  Verify the validated account details and personal information

Call the Absolute service to verify that the account exists and, if you are using Bank Wizard Absolute, that the personal details match the owner of the account.

2.  Are there any data integrity errors?

You must now check for any data integrity errors that have been returned. These are returned if the information supplied is either incomplete or not in the correct format.

If any data integrity errors are returned you must reject the details.

If you have a user interface, you can display these errors and prompt for the missing information.

Messages returned:

Data integrity errors

3.  Retrieve verification conditions

When verification is successful, the results are returned as scores to show how well sections of the entered data match the Bank Wizard data:

You should not display the actual returned scores to the user. Typically you would display a simple pass/fail message once your application has checked the scores against your business threshold (step 4).

Messages returned:

Verification conditions

4.  Are the scores below your business threshold?

The rules you use to determine whether you can accept the details for this payment are specific to your business. Bank Wizard will not tell you whether to reject or accept the details.

For example:

5.  Have the account details been transposed?

To identify if the account details entered by the user have been transposed by Bank Wizard, check for the condition "Account details were not in standard form and have been transposed". Where this condition has been set, retrieve the transposed values from Bank Wizard.

6.  Store the transposed details

Store the transposed values within your business application for use when making payments. Ideally, you should also retain the original values for confirmation purposes or for communication with the customer.

7.  Display the details

You should display the transposed account details and the branch name and address for confirmation. You can also redisplay the entered personal details.

Check the number of bank records that have been returned. If multiple branches have been returned, display a list of the branches so that the user can select the correct one.

8.  Are these details acceptable?

The user should then confirm that the displayed details are correct and that the account and account holder have been verified.
